My History
A brief history of myself and how it fits in with my holistic approach to overall health. I am a Adult born to ADHD and ASPD, to understand why I am an avocate for mental illness and overall health.
I was born in a time in which many diagnosed illnesses as society will place the lable was not diagnosed, over the years children were overmedicated and the quick fix was a pill. I did not get diagnosed untill I was 35 during which I had hit my all time low.
As I was never diagnosed through childhood and ADHD had ruled my actions, behaviors and my life I was in and out of trouble, very hard for my parents to raise. As a result I was a target of bullies and since my own behaviors led me to an abusive upbringing, that mostly I brought on myself.
As I had grown in to and adult I was very compulsive, which led me to start many things, eaither never finish or quit when I was just getting comfortable. As for my 1st marriage I had children and did the same things to them as that was done to me, and I was given a choice to change or keep on my destructive path in which my family and myself would all lose in the end.
As I didnt embrace this choice in the beginning I did over a short amount of time and I went through three years of therapy but I came to realize what I was doing to my family was wrong and it would be better for them to go on with life without me involved so much. As a result of this hard choice my family could not understand why but I knew leaving was the best while I figured out about myself and to not burden them with the result of an abusive father.
One day after I had completed my therapy I walked into my old church I had a vision (Yes most will not nor comprehend this) but I do not consider myself a religous person but for some reason it happened, I still to this day wonder why I was created this way, but that aside I had this vision I knew what I had to do.
I started going back to school and recieved a degree in medical administration, a vague degree with many possibilities, at this time I was fighting PTSD from my childhood and adult events I gained so much weight from when I was in the US ARMY at 135lbs to upwards of almost 300lbs. I started to lose the weight slowly over a 1 year period and I knew what my path was to be. I would help others that are fighting mental illnesses and weight issues to be a beacon of success.
The next step was to get my degree in fitness in which I received a degree in Advanced Health and Fitness. I am currently working on my Adaptive & Special Needs Fitness Certification afterwards I will Finish my NASM Certification with future certifications.
So you may ask yourself can someone actually have a life with ADHD, ASPD, Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD and my answer is yes. As for the above disorders I have conquered Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD without being on meds (Not to say I was never on them, because I was, but I learned a life without meds) and not being a burden to society with my approach to overall fitness and I am here to help you with my program.
